Tunisia Inflation Rate at Near 2-Year Low of 6.3%
Tunisia's annual inflation rate fell to 6.3 percent in November 2019 from 6.5 percent in the previous month. It was the lowest inflation rate since December 2017, mainly due to a slowdown in prices of food & non-alcoholic beverages (6.3 percent vs 6.6 percent in October), namely vegetables (4 percent vs 9.6 percent) and transport (2.9 percent vs 3.4 percent). Cost also rose less for housing & utilities (4.2 percent vs 4.3 percent); furnishings (8.1 percent vs 8.7 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (10.1 percent vs 10.3 percent); recreation & culture (5.4 percent vs 5.8 percent) and restaurants & hotels (5.3 percent vs 5.5 percent). In contrast, inflation edged higher for clothing & footwear (7.3 percent vs 7.1 percent) and health (7.2 percent vs 5.9 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.4 percent, following a 0.8 percent rise in the previous month.

Tunisia's annual inflation rate decreased to 6.5 percent in October of 2019 from 6.7 percent in the previous month. It was the lowest inflation rate since July, mainly due to a slowdown in food prices (6.6 percent vs 7.3 percent in September).

Tunisia's annual inflation rate came in at 6.7 percent in September of 2019, unchanged from the previous month. Prices slowed for food & non-alcoholic beverages (7.3 percent vs 7.4 percent in August); transports (3.6 percent vs 4.8 percent); clothing & footwear (7.1 percent vs 7.3 percent); education (5.4 percent vs 6.9 percent) and miscellaneous goods & services (10.5 percent vs 10.8 percent). On the other hand, prices advanced faster for housing & utilities (4.2 percent vs 4.1 percent); furnishings (9.1 percent vs 8.9 percent); health (6.6 percent vs 6.2 percent); recreation & culture (5.9 percent vs 5.6 percent) and restaurants & hotels (11.4 percent vs 11.1 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.6 percent, the same pace as in August.

Tunisia Inflation Rate Edges Up to 6.7% in August
The annual inflation rate in Tunisia rose to 6.7 percent in August 2019 from 6.5 percent in the previous month. Prices advanced faster mainly for alcoholic beverages & tobacco (15.2 percent vs 0.3 percent), namely tobacco (16.1 percent); food & non-alcoholic beverages (7.4 percent vs 6.5 percent in July); furnishings (8.9 percent vs 8.6 percent) and restaurants & hotels (11.1 percent vs 10.5 percent). On the other hand, inflation slowed for transport (4.8 percent vs 6.3 percent); housing & utilities (4.1 percent vs 5.1 percent); clothing & footwear (7.3 percent vs 8.5 percent) and education (6.9 percent vs 7.2 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.6 percent, up from a 0.3 percent increase in the prior month.

The annual inflation rate in Tunisia fell to 6.5 percent in July 2019 from 6.8 percent in the prior month. It was the lowest inflation rate since December 2017. Prices slowed mostly for transport (6.3 percent vs 9.2 percent in June); housing & utilities (5.1 percent vs 5.2 percent); clothing & footwear (8.5 percent vs 8.7 percent) and furnishings (8.6 percent vs 8.9 percent). Meanwhile, cost advanced faster for food & non-alcoholic beverages (6.5 percent vs 6.0 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.3 percent, the same pace as in the preceding month.

Tunisia Inflation Rate at Near 1-1/2-Year Low of 6.8%
The annual inflation rate in Tunisia eased to 6.8 percent in June 2019 from 7.0 percent in the prior month. It was the lowest inflation rate since February last year. Prices slowed mostly for food & non-alcoholic beverages (6.0 percent vs 7.3 percent in May); transport (9.2 percent vs 9.5 percent); clothing & footwear (8.7 percent vs 8.8 percent) and furnishings (8.9 percent vs 9.0 percent). Conversely, cost rose further for housing & utilities (5.2 percent vs 5.1 percent) and restaurants & hotels (11.1 percent vs 9.6 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.3 percent, after increasing 0.5 percent in the previous month.
